My name is Allyson Castiglia and I am a senior at Johnson & Wales University in Providence, Rhode Island. My major is Fashion Merchandising & Retail Marketing and I will be graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in February 2015.
I am very active on campus with various organizations such as Delta Phi Epsilon International Sorority, Order of Omega Greek Honor Society, International Fashion Society, and Special Events Society. I currently serve as the Coordinator of Fundraising for my sorority and I have previously worked as Coordinator of Formal Recruitment.
I am from a small town in New Jersey where I work as a Sales Associate for Victoria’s Secret. This past trimester, I successfully completed an internship program at a costume jewelry showroom in New York City.
I learned about buyer and vendor communication as well as merchandising. It provided me with a valueable hands-on experience in many amazing facets of the accessories industry. I have always been extremely passionate about the fashion industry.
I love trend forecasting as well as looking into the past to find where many designers today get their inspirations from. I am always learning something new about this industry and I find it so exciting that I will soon play an important role in fashion after I graduate.
